Important Notice to our Members


Mitcham Branch Closure – effective from close of business on Thursday, 28 September 2017

 

We advise that Dnister Ukrainian Credit Co-operative Ltd’s Mitcham Branch has closed as of Thursday, 28 September 2017. (Note that Friday, 29 September 2017 was the AFL Grand Final Public Holiday and a replacement trading day was provided on Thursday, 28 September 2017.)

In making this difficult decision, we were faced with a significant increase in rental if we were to extend the lease beyond that date. Our strong preference is to invest our funds on member products and services, support for our members’ communities and in the further development of our business. In recent months, Dnister staff have spent time at Latvian House, Elwood on Saturdays and have discussed the situation with many key stakeholders in the Latvian Community.

 

Dnister remains committed to providing an appropriate mix of branch, mobile banker, digital and card solutions for our members. The services currently provided from the Mitcham branch will be replaced by:

  • A new community liaison role for Angelika Petersons, centred at Melbourne Latvian House, Elwood and also available at Latvian Friendly Society, Wantirna South, where she will continue to serve our members and manage our community engagement programs.
  • Mobile bankers available to come to you and assist with your lending requirements.
  • Digital services available through internet banking and mobile banking. In the coming months, we will also be launching a new internet banking portal and a new mobile App.
  • Our Visa Debit Card, featuring tap and go with a Visa payWave, and our CueCard provide access to your funds through ATM’s and point of sale terminals.
  • Branch services will continue to be available at our locations in Essendon, Geelong, Adelaide and Sydney. Branch services will continue to be available at our locations in Essendon, Geelong, Adelaide and Sydney.
  • Transaction services will continue to be available through Australia Post outlets.
  • Deposit services will continue to be available through Westpac branches.

Questions and Answers

All physical files will be transferred from our Mitcham branch to our Essendon branch. No action will be required by you. Electronic accounts and files will continue to operate, unaffected by the branch closure.

Angelika will be part of the team at our Essendon branch and her role will be centred at Melbourne Latvian House in Elwood. You will be able to contact her on her mobile during her working hours and details will be available shortly. Angelika will continue to be supported by our Essendon branch team and our Call Centre staff.

Please speak to Angelika at Latvian House of a Saturday or call our friendly Call Centre staff on 1800 353 041 and they will be able to arrange this for you. Getting internet and/or mobile banking is easy and it only takes a few minutes to establish your access.

Dnister is part of the Bank@Post™ network, Australia Post’s personal banking service with over 3,200 retail outlets around the nation. Simply present your Visa Debit Card or CueCard, which is linked to your Everyday Account, to-

  • Withdraw cash of up to $1,000 per day;
  • Pay bills;
  • Deposit cash of up to $3,000 per day; or
  • Deposit cheques

Please call our friendly Call Centre staff on 1800 353 041 and they will arrange for a personal identification number (PIN) and card to be sent to you. Your card should arrive a few days after it is ordered.

You can visit any Westpac branch anywhere in Australia and deposit cash and/or cheques into your Dnister Everyday Banking account. It’s quick and easy. All you need are your banking details (BSB 704-235 and your account number) or you can choose to have a deposit book containing all of your banking details.
